A Celebration of Macedonian Wines and Delicacies
By combining fine food and thoughtfully chosen music, the festival has successfully attracted an increasing number of visitors each year.
Wine tasting of top vintages, delightful food, and plenty of entertainment is what the Skopje Wine Festival “Vinoskop” offers, held annually in mid-October. Launched in 2012, the primary aim of this event is to elevate wine culture among Macedonian citizens. Despite producing exceptional wines exported globally, North Macedonia falls into countries with populations consuming relatively modest quantities of wine. By combining fine food and thoughtfully chosen music, the festival has successfully attracted an increasing number of visitors each year.
“Vinoskop” takes place annually at various locations throughout the city, with this year’s event likely to be situated in front of the sports hall “Boris Trajkovski” in the Skopje neighborhood of Karpoš 2.
Approximately 40 domestic winemakers showcase their offerings at “Vinoskop” each year. Tasting sessions feature their select wines and innovative wine cocktails, such as sangria and wine-mojito, alongside samples of some of Macedonia’s finest delicacies: yellow cheeses (kashkaval), feta cheese, and dried meats.
The musical lineup typically includes performances by renowned Macedonian artists across various genres—pop, rock, jazz, blues—and traditional Macedonian folk music, enriching the festival atmosphere.
Admission to the festival is free, with attendees purchasing vouchers upon entry to cover the cost of wine consumption during the event.
